Disruptions at Holyhead Port Affect Ferry Services and Parcel Deliveries

Disruptions at Holyhead Port Affect Ferry Services and Parcel Deliveries

Ferry cancellations and adjustments lead to an alternative route setup, while An Post assures timely deliveries for Christmas.
Delays and cancellations continue as Holyhead Port remains shut until at least December 19, affecting Christmas travel plans.

Irish Ferries have cancelled all Holyhead services until Thursday, with all sailings booked until December 27.

Rosslare to Pembroke routes are also fully booked for the season.

In response, Stena Line has established new routes between Dublin and Fishguard, and Dublin and Liverpool, though availability is limited.

The Stena Adventurer operates between Dublin and Fishguard until December 19, with voyages lasting around six-and-a-half to seven hours.

Meanwhile, the Estrid offers a temporary Dublin to Liverpool service for those with prior bookings on the Dublin-Holyhead route.

Stena Line confirms that the Liverpool route is exclusive to existing customers transferring from the Dublin-Holyhead journey.

An Post has committed to delivering all parcels received by December 21 in time for Christmas, despite a backlog at Holyhead affecting 500,000 parcels initially, now reduced to 16,000 pending deliveries.

An Post emphasizes that all parcels are promptly processed and will reach destinations without delay, thanks to advanced technology and staff reinforcements for the holiday season.
