Plans for a 100-room hotel, replacing a current car park, are under review with considerations for noise and capacity management.
A future new hotel at Dublin Airport is being proposed with Fingal County Council looking for details on noise within the hotel and how the number of people in the building will be managed.
The proposals are for a five storey over basement level hotel comprising 100 bedrooms, meeting rooms, licensed bar/restaurant, kitchen and ancillary services including, offices, staff room, and gym area, laundry, plant and refuse spaces; along with associated elevational signage.
The site is currently in use as a car park for the existing Carlton Hotel.
It would see the hotel be operated as a standalone hotel building.
There will be a pedestrian walkway linking it with the current Carlton Hotel.
The current plans are broadly similar to a previous plan approved for the site but that was not built due to the
Covid-19 pandemic.
Additional information has been requested on the proposed development.
It includes details on density restrictions particularly relating to the proposed bar and restaurant.
A noise impact assessment, due to the proximity of the hotel to the airport, has also been requested.
Details have also been asked for on the walkway between the two hotels and a colonnade at ground floor level.
The applicant, Trimstar Ltd, has yet to submit the additional information requested with details expected in early 2025.
