Eoin Hayes to Serve as Independent TD Following Social Democrats Suspension

TD Eoin Hayes seeks to regain trust after providing incorrect information about Palantir shares sale.
Eoin Hayes, a TD from Dublin Bay South, announced he will sit as an Independent in the Dáil next week after being suspended from the Social Democrats.

The suspension followed his admission of providing inaccurate information regarding the timing of his divestment from shares in Palantir.

Initially, Hayes claimed the shares were sold before he was elected to Dublin City Council in June, but later confirmed they were sold in July for €199,000 before tax.

Hayes apologized for the misinformation and expressed his commitment to regaining the trust of the Social Democrats and his constituents.

He also reiterated his support for the Palestinian people and criticized Israeli government actions.

Hayes will take his seat as an Independent when the Dáil resumes on December 18, hoping to make amends and continue advocating for important issues.
