Minister for Enterprise Simon Coveney to Step Down from Cabinet Role, Continues as Cork South Central TD
Simon Coveney has announced he will be stepping down from the cabinet.
The Minister for Enterprise said he had spoken to Simon Harris last night to inform him about his decision.
He said on X (formerly known as Twitter): 'Last night I spoke to @SimonHarrisTD to inform him that I would not be making myself available to serve in cabinet when the Dáil resumes next week.' 'I’ll continue to work as a proud TD for Cork South Central and will of course actively support the Government in the Dáil.' The Fine Gael political from Cork had been in the cabinet since 2011.
Mr Coveney was the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment since December 2022.
He had also previously served as Tánaiste from November 2017 to June 2020.
